Dr. Huy Do graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins University Bayview Program. He is the co-founder of Vietnam Medical Assistance Program, which he took part to establish during 2nd year of medical school. His passion is to provide compassionate and high quality medical care with focus on prevention. He has led multiple medical missions to Vietnam. From his experience, he believes that primary care is the best approach to the poor in developing countries where resources are scarce. In 2012, he established the PrimCare project with the goal to optimize primary care delivery in rural regions of Vietnam with focus on prevention and treatment of chronic diseases. His other interests include teaching and mentoring health professional students, and developing public health programs to meet the need of the people in the communities in the US and in Vietnam.
Nguyen Nguyen, PhD
Board Member and Co-founder
Dr. Nguyen K. Nguyen is a biomedical scientist and a futurist. He is currently a fellow at the American Associate for the Advancement of Science serving at USAID. Before coming to USAID, Nguyen took different positions as a science instructor, management constant, futurist, and research scientist at many organizations. Nguyen was the cofounder and CEO of the Viet Nam Medical Assistance Program (VNMAP), an international healthcare NGO, from 2007-2012. During his time at VNMAP, Nguyen led many healthcare assistance programs in Vietnam including the collaboration with the U.S. Department of Defense’s Pacific Partnership mission in 2012. As a cancer scientist, Nguyen has published on different scientific journals. Nguyen earned his Doctorate in Cellular and Molecular Medicine from the Johns Hopkins University, School of Medicine.
Loc Le, MD, FACP, FACG
Dr. Le is a board certified hepatologist in Baltimore, Maryland and the current Chair of the National Task Force on Hepatitis B with focus on the Asian and Pacific Islander Americans. Dr. Le is very active in Hepatitis B advocacy and has been involved with Hepatitis B education, screening, prevention, and treatment locally and nationally. As the leader of the National Hepatitis B Task Force, Dr. Le works hard to create a consortium of organizations, educators, and activists in different regions of the US to advance the awareness and support in the fight against Hepatitis B. He is a national speaker at the Vietnamese-American Medical Association’s annual convention on Hepatitis B and liver cancer. As an advisory board member of the Asian Health Foundation he networks with other Asian hepatologists in the country to facilitate Hepatitis B education in various Asian communities. Locally, in the MidAtlantic area, Dr. Le is an advisor and a board member of the Vietnam Medical Assistance Program, non-profit organization, through which he helped found "SMASH B" (Screening, Management, Awareness, and Solution for Hepatitis B), a network of patients and health providers to facilitate the management of Hepatitis B. Dr. Le has appeared on multiple radio and television programs (STBN) to discuss about Hepatitis B.
Hoai-An Truong, PharmD, MPH
Dr. Truong is Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice at West Coast University. Previously, Dr. Truong was Assistant Dean for Professional Affairs at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) School of Pharmacy. Hoai-An received his Doctor of Pharmacy and Master of Public Health from the University of Maryland Schools of Pharmacy and Medicine, respectively. Dr. Truong taught medication management and public health and led the Eastern Shore Collaborative for Interprofessional Education (ESCIPE) initiative. Additionally, he has been faculty/trainer for the American Pharmacists Association Medication Therapy Management national certificate training program. He has provided medication management for underserved patients in an interprofessional collaborative model at several clinics within the Primary Care Coalition of Montgomery County (PCC). The PCC team’s work to improve health care access and quality for underserved populations received a PSPC Life -saving Patient Safety Award and was visited by the White House ’s Office of Management and Budget in 2012.
Angie D. Trandai, CFP®, RFC®
Angie D. Trandai is a board Certified Financial Planner with professional security and insurance licenses. She is the founder of Trandai Financial Solutions, LLC. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and worked for more than 12 years at Procter & Gamble. With her unique education, "thinking outside the box," and troubleshooting skills, compassion for others, she effectively develops solutions to put her clients' worries at rest and bring peace of mind to them.
Phiet Nguyen, MBA
Mr. Phiet Nguyen has over 10 years of professional work experience in the financial service industry ranging from insurance, investments, consumer banking, and multifamily commercial real estate. He has directly worked on and underwritten several multifamily transactions ranging from new construction, mixeduse, substantial rehabilitation, and refinance, encompassing a variety of financing and subsidy vehicles, including HUD 221(d)(4), HUD 220, HUD 223(f), HUD 223(a)(7), CDA tax exempt bond financing with 4% and 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credits, local grants and loans, and private equity. Phiet also is a partner at a few start-up companies doing business relating to international trade, sales, marketing, finance, and capital raising consultation. He holds an MBA in Finance from Johns Hopkins University’s Carey Business School and is a MAP Certified Underwriter.
