The Viet Nam Medical Assistance Program (VNMAP) was warmly welcomed into Pacific Partnership for the first time and was happy to be joining the U.S. Navy, partner nations, host nation and other NGOs in Vinh, Vietnam. During this mission, our volunteers provided interpretation services for USNS Mercy leadership and the DMS, DNS, DCSS and DSS directorates; participated in MEDCAPs, SURGCAPs, SMEEs; and assisted in triage and with medical procedures and surgical operations. We also enjoyed participating in various ceremonies, the icebreaker event on the Japanese ship Oosumi, and karaoke nights. Read more
